2008 Arkansas Senior Olympics

These are qualifying events for the 2009 Summer National Senior Games. The games include events in archery, badminton, basketball, bowling, cycling, golf, horseshoes, race walk, racquetball, road race, trap shooting, shooting, shuffleboard, swimming, table tennis, tennis, track & field, 8-ball poll, weightlifting, scrabble and more. Carousel Theatre

Carousel Reader's Theatre welcomes new members, seniors 50 years or older, who are interested in theatrical study and performanc. Readers' Theatre is so called because there is limited memorization and mobility. The actors perform with scripts in front of them. Dues are not required, but contributions are appreciated. The group, with performances emphasizing humor and enthusiasm, has appeared at no charge (donations appreciated) at Gallery Walk, civic clubs, church and school groups, assisted living and nursing facilities and other celebrations of the arts. Meetings are held from 10:30am to noon Fridays at the Garland County Library. Carousel Theatre is an activity of the Association of Senior Arts Program, a nonprofit organization.
